LAUNCH music and fashion festival set to take over Midtown Sacramento

max powerGone are the days of Midtown/Downtown Sacramento having nothing to do.

The most recent example of that is the LAUNCH music and fashion festival that is set to land right on top of the city Thursday and it isn’t letting go until Imagine Dragons takes the stage at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday night.

Last night the festival got things kicked off right with a block party at the MARRS building and they start off tonight at Ace of Spades with bands An Angle, Mister Metaphor and Oakland-based Wallpaper.  On Friday the festival takes a turn toward fashion at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria and then over the weekend things move over to Cesar Chavez Park, where 31 acts will play including emerging Sacramento group DLRN (1 p.m. Sunday).

Tickets are $10 at Ace of Spades on Thursday, $30-95 for the fashion show on Friday, and over the weekend tickets are $55 for a single day and $75 for all weekend.  If you change your mind after buying a ticket for just one day you can upgrade that ticket to a weekend pass for just $20.

For the long list of bands and to hear some of their music go to the nifty Launch Sacramento website.

After the event, submit your pictures to and we’ll profile the best ones on our home page.
