Aftershock music festival to land on Discovery Park week of Sept. 14-15

max powerThe Aftershock music festival sponsored by Monster energy drinks is set to go down at Discovery Park on the weekend of September 14-15.

It is also sponsored by the Maloof family, former disgraced owners of the Sacramento Kings, by route of their new vodka drink, Zing.  Nothing says ‘yay Sacramento’ like the family that tried to royally screw the city over.

But I digress.

Korn, Megadeth, Papa Roach and P.O.D. are some names some of you might remember.  For a complete lineup go to the official website, where tickets are being sold from $59.50 for one day to $109.50 for a two-day pass.  VIP tickets are still available.

There will be a free pre-party on Friday, September 13 at Ace of Spades starting at 7 PM including appearances by Steel Panther, LA Rocks and Angels Fall.  It will be first come, first serve even if you have a ticket, so like get there early and stuff.

Avenged Sevenfold will close out the festival at the north stage on Sunday night.monster

For all you unsigned local bands that want to get a shot at the action, the Ernie Ball stage will be doing a battle of the bands style contest with the winner getting their own show on that stage on Sunday.  The deadline for applications is today (Friday, September 6) and you can learn more at their official website.

As usual upload your pictures to our Tumblr page and we’ll put the best ones on the site.
