I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty

By Becky Larson, SacMidtown.com

Calling all Midtown Men!  Ever wondered how and why women walk around in painful 4 inch stilettos all day?  Well, here is your opportunity to find out and feel oh so pretty.

Get ready to find a smoking hot pair of heels and “work it” for the first ever Walk a Mile in Her Shoes March® in Midtown on Saturday, April 30.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is an international event that started in 2001 to increase awareness about sexual violence and raise money for local rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters and remediation programs.  Proceeds for the Midtown walk will benefit   Sacramento County’s Women Escaping a Violent Environment, Inc. (WEAVE).

The walk begins on 18th and Capitol Avenue at 10:00 am.  You can choose to walk a full mile in your heels or simply strut your way around the block.  Considering many of us females walk around in those things at least 40 hours a week, I say take one for the team and walk the mile.

There will be live music, awards for the most team spirit and most money raised as well as an after party at Zócalo Restaurant where you can rest your aching feet.

You can register for the walk online at http://www.weaveinc.org/post/walk-mile-her-shoes-r-registration until April 29.  Registration is $35 and includes a pretty pair of pumps (register before April 8 if you want a pair), t-shirt, after party pass and goodie bag.

So grab your favorite bros and discover how oh so pretty you feel in pumps too.
