Annual Beer Week Gets Things Brewing in Midtown

By Becky Larson,

February is finally here which means we’re getting closer to being able to once again enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes.

No, I’m not talking baseball.

I’m referring to an entire week of beer drinking!  Sacramento’s 2nd Annual Beer Week is set for February 25 – March 6 and with over 200 events focused on different brews, Midtowners young and old have a good excuse to drink up.

To get your beer palate ready for the busy drinking week ahead, you can kick things off one day early at the Sacramento Brewers Showcase on February 24th at the Crocker Art Museum.  Some of our “go to” downtown/midtown watering holes like Streets of London, Brew It Up! and deVere’s will be providing beer specials throughout the week but the partying doesn’t stop there.  Try out some unexpected Beer Week participants as well such as The Melting Pot and Grange at the Citizen Hotel.

If you haven’t had your fill by the end of the week you can always check out the signature event, the Capital BeerFest on Saturday, March 5th at Cal Expo where over 60 breweries will be providing their best brews.  And, just because you’re a Midtowner, a free shuttle to and from Midtown is available for this event so you can drink without making any bad decisions (at least as far as driving is concerned).

All Beer Week details can be found at  But be forewarned, there is a lot going on so plan ahead, party responsibly and Drink on, Midtowners!
