Midtown Holiday Stuff!

By Nick Leonti, SacMidtown.com

I might be a real jerk most of the year, but every December I’m full of holiday cheer (and cookies). There are a lot of good things happening in Sacramento for the holidays.

Here are a few off the top of my head.

The Nutcracker @ The Sacramento Ballet
I’ve never actually been to this because by the time I think of it, it’s already sold out. That’s probably the case this year too. One of these days I’ll make it happen. If you go, let me know if it’s good.

Old Sacramento “Theater of Lights”
I’ve never been to this either, but everyone is saying that this year’s holiday light show is pretty spectacular. The 20-minute light shows run at 6pm and 7:30pm, Thursday-Sunday throughout the holiday season.

Chistkindlmarkt at the Turn Verein
I pretty much love any event at the Turn Verein. This one brings us a traditional European Christmas market complete with German food, crafts and the all-important hot spiced wine. I’m going with my mom!

Here I am looking awesome at an actual German Christmas market. Will the Turn Verein be this cool? Hope so.

Downtown Holiday Ice Rink
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I like everything about the downtown ice skating rink except for the part where I have to put on skates and get on the ice. Those skates just don’t agree with my Fred Flintstone feet.

The 12 Days of Midtown
I’m Scroogin’ you on this one and making you follow the link above for all the details. There’s too much for me to type. Good holiday stuff though!

Welp, I’m gonna go eat a whole thing of holiday cookies. See ya.
